The Homecoming Scottish Cup 2009
While the Scottish Premier League maybe temporarily out of reach for the majority of Scottish clubs just now, no supporter of any club should feel the Scottish Cup is out of their reach.
Since the first competition in 1873-74, 23 teams have won the cup. Celtic lead the way with 34 victories followed by current holders Rangers on 32. Despite the large number of times the old firm have kept the trophy in Glasgow, it should be noted that nearly half the time, 56 occasions to be exact, a team from outwith the big two have been victorious.

The old lady of Scottish Football has witnessed more than its fair share of drama and emotion over the years. Perhaps the most talked about final is the 1991 seven goal thriller between Motherwell and Dundee United, with Ally Maxwell fighting through the pain of broken ribs to help win it for the Steelmen.

There was the drama and nail biting tension of the 1990 and 2006 finals going to penalties, Dundee united and Hearts ending hoodoos in 94 and 98, the Old Firm serving up a classic in 2002, Rangers winning the treble in 93 when they seemed to be running on empty, St Mirren's unlikely triumph in 1987 against the UEFA cup finalists, Celtic coming from behind to snatch victory over Dundee United in 85 then doing it again in 88. They are only a handful of memorable games in a tournament that now is already into its 124th year.

This website is to celebrate every year of the cup. We hope to have a page for every final for fans to relive the magic of cup final day. Although the site is currently in its infancy, we hope to include match reports, fans stories, pictures and newspaper clippings from each final. Its also not just about the final, but the road to Hampden itself, including classic games, humuliating defeats, cup heroes and villians.
To do this the site needs you to help. Every Scottish football fan had a favourite Scottish cup memory. Unfortunately, we all have a heartbraking story too. We want to hear them all, and have as many photos as possible in order to build up a montage of memories for each year of the cup.
